Key specialists of NIOCHIM leading by Director Irina Dovhaliuk took part in the World Soda Ash 2020 conference, which was held on October 19-22, 2020. In view of the current epidemiological situation in the world, this year’s conference was held online.
In addition to considering of traditional issues for this conference – an outlook of the world market of soda ash and soda products, soda ash production in certain countries, an outlook of the market of float glass and packaging glass, environmental aspects of production, etc. – issues that have become urgent this year were also raised: the prospects of the world economy during a lockdown, distribution in a crisis, shipping during a pandemic.
It is gratifying that even during the current severe crisis and restrictions, some market players manage not only to keep afloat, but also to develop according to a previously set schedule. So, on the first day of the conference, one of the speakers was Mr. Malhotra, President of RSPL Group (India), who shared the success story of the newest soda ash plant, which was built according to the basic engineering of NIOCHIM and was started-up and implemented with the participation of our specialists in nearly record time for the industry. We are proud that the team of our Institute, as the technical licensor of the project, is also the part of this success.
